Creative Employment Programme Funding Success

We’re very pleased to announce that our application to the Creative Employment Programme for funding towards a 26 week paid Stage Management Internship has been successful for the second year running.

The Creative Employment Programme is an Arts Council England fund to support the creation of traineeships, formal apprenticeship and paid internship opportunities in England for unemployed young people wishing to pursue a career in the arts and cultural sector.

Theatre Alibi has been successfully offering a paid Stage Management Internship for five years now and all previous interns have gone on to paid theatre jobs. The CEP funding means that the internship can last for longer, making it possible for interns to gain experience of different kinds of productions and tours. Our new Intern will work on Mucky Pup, a new children’s show by Daniel Jamieson touring schools, community venues and theatres throughout the autumn, as well as on our midscale production of Michael Morpurgos’s I Believe in Unicorns in spring 2015.The new internship will be advertised through Job Centre Plus over the next few weeks.

"I feel that I have developed from being a Stage Management Intern into being a Stage Manager. I would recommend this internship to anyone wanting to work in Stage Management”
Sadie Jennings, Theatre Alibi Stage Management Intern 2013
