Festival of St Thomas Stories

Since 2019 we have been gathering the stories of St Thomas collecting over 70 Oral Histories. With these stories at the heart of the work we have performed on peoples’ doorsteps, on the streets, hosted pop-up exhibitions and performed a full-scale show, River Land, in our home, Emmanuel Hall.

From the 8th to the 10th of July 2022 we celebrated these stories and the community that shared them with us with the Festival of St Thomas Stories.

As part of the festival 6 Community groups, 8 artists, 5 schools, 8 St Thomas businesses and 7 organisations from the wider Exeter area contributed to and ran events over the weekend. In total, there were 21 events, reaching over 3000 people.

“It has strengthened my sense of belonging in our area.”

“I have learned more about the people that live locally to me, including the various different cultures!”
