Welcome to Alibi – A Creative Playground for Young People!
Alibi is a buzzing arts venue designed for children and young people, packed with performances, exhibitions, film screenings, workshops, and exciting creative projects with our local partner schools. No two days are ever the same—there’s always something happening!
We’re also home to St Thomas Library, open five days a week, hosting its own fantastic events and offering a cosy space to dive into a good book.
Need a Space?
Whether you’re planning a show, a workshop, or a community meet-up, we’ve got flexible spaces to suit your needs:
Main Hall – Big, bright, and perfect for rehearsals, performances, events, and large gatherings.
Upstairs Studio – A smaller, creative space great for workshops and rehearsals.
Green Room – A chill little spot between the library and main hall, ideal for small community events.
All spaces have access to a kitchenette, and we’ve got technical equipment available to hire. Just a heads-up—extra setup or tech support comes at an additional cost.

Access at Emmanuel Hall
Our main hall is fully accessible for wheelchair users, or people with limited mobility, and we have one toilet that is accessible and includes a visual strobe fire alarm. The upstairs studio is on the first floor and so are not accessible for wheelchair users at present. For the green room there is ramped access or you can enter via the library.
We also regret that the entrance into the downstairs kitchen is currently not wide enough to accommodate motorised wheelchairs.
For anyone who is visually impaired, colour contrast has been provided throughout the building and signage and lighting upgraded. There is a parking space for anyone who is disabled at the front of the building next to a ramp. There’s a call bell if you need to seek assistance.
Please do get in touch by calling 01392 217 315 or emailing access@theatrealibi.co.uk if you’re coming for an event here and would like more information or assistance.
