Getting to Alibi

Address

Emmanuel Hall
St Thomas
Exeter
EX4 1EJ

We are located 0.7 miles from Exeter city centre.

Driving

Public parking at Alibi is reserved for staff and Blue Badge holders only. There is one Blue Badge parking space which is available on a first come, first served basis, and there is another Blue Badge parking space on Emmanuel Road.

Unless you are using a Blue Badge parking space, to avoid disturbing our neighbours please don’t drive down Emmanuel Road – there’s very little space and it’s hard to turn around! Our closest pay and display car park is 0.2 miles away on Okehampton Street, and costs £2 for 2 hours parking and £3 for 3 hours. There is usually someone available to answer the Alibi Office phone from Monday – Friday, 9.30am – 5.30pm. The garden is always open.

Buggies

If you are bringing a buggy, please use our outdoor buggy shelter located at the back of the building.

Food and drink

The Alibi Café is open during events and performances. The Café is a relaxed space where you can grab a good cup of tea or coffee. We sell snacks here, but you’re welcome to bring a packed lunch if you’re coming along to one of our events or play sessions.

Baby changing and feeding

We have baby changing facilities on the ground floor, located in lobby area of our main toilets, which are for all genders. There are two tables for changing, one high and one lower one.

You’re welcome to feed anywhere in the building, but we usually also have a quiet space available. If you’d like to feed in a quiet space or have any particular feeding needs, please chat to one of our team.

Tickets & Booking

We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to enjoy our events, so we are trialling a ticket system which we hope will allow this.

  • Our BASIC ticket price is based on how much we pay the brilliant artists who will be entertaining you at the event. It doesn’t include any of our running costs or staffing.
  • Our BOOST ticket price is for those of you who feel you can help; it includes a small mark up which goes straight back into our charity and helps us to keep doing what we’re doing.
  • Our CONCESSION price exists to ensure cost isn’t a barrier to participation. If you couldn’t attend without this reduced rate, this ticket is for you.

Event Types

Alibi is a welcoming space for imaginative events of all kinds, created especially for children, young people, and families. We hope that whatever the reason for your visit, you’ll find something unexpected and enriching while you’re with us. We also know it can be helpful knowing what to expect before you arrive!

To give some guidance, our events are grouped into a few simple categories:

Imagine

These events will be performances or talks. There might be elements of joining in, but it’s likely you’ll be seated as if you were going to a traditional show.

All children need to be accompanied by a grown-up for these events and everyone attending needs to book a ticket.

Create

These drop-off workshop events are an opportunity for young ones to get creative and learn new skills. Places will need to be booked in advance.  Children will be supervised by staff, so parents/carers can leave.

Explore

These will be interactive exhibits or experiences. They are more likely to be self-guided events, where you are invited to explore at your own pace.

All children need to be accompanied for these events. You might need to book tickets, even if the event is free.

Discover

Children need accompanying to these one-off interactive events – but grown-ups go for free! You will usually need to book tickets, even if the event is free.

Play

These are drop-in events that don’t need booking in advance. Come along with your little ones, grab a cuppa from our café and relax in an informal setting.
