End of Summer Bash!

By Alibi & St Thomas Library

Summer is winding down, but before the routines kick back in let’s send it off in style! We’re teaming up with our friends at St Thomas Library to host a free end-of-summer celebration, packed with activities for children of all ages.

The Alibi Café will be serving hot and cold drinks and snacks, so grab a cuppa and chill out with storytelling in the garden, crafting and games in the Main Hall, Lego making, monster treasure hunting and more!

Schedule: 10am – 1pm

Alibi Play Cafe — Serving hot and cold drinks, snacks and sweet treats, plus space for little ones to play

Monster Treasure Hunt — The biggest St Thomas Library treasure hunt yet! There are monsters on the loose in Emmanuel Hall… can you find them all? Head to the library to get started.

Lego Table in the Main hall — Get stuck in making your best weird and wonderful Lego creations!

Alibi Story Garden (10.30am, 11.30am)Join the Alibi Story Gardener for an interactive storytelling brought to life with props, songs and actions to join in with. Suitable for ages 2+

Crafting and colouring in the Library — Join a facilitated crafting session with Cassie from 10am – 2pm, or get colouring any time

Summer Book Quest Prize Giving — For anyone that’s participated in the St Thomas Library Summer Book Quest this year, come and get your prize! If you didn’t participate, why not join the library while you’re here and then this could be you next summer!

Memory Quilting — In the lead up to St Thomas All Souls’ Festival, Alibi are creating a memory quilt made up of patchwork squares decorated by different people from all over Exeter. You might want to commemorate a pet, friend or loved one who has died, or you might want to represent an important memory of any kind. You can decorate the square however you want (draw, paint, glue, embroider, applique – get creative!) and send it to us to be stitched into our latest story.

Fabric squares and information about how to get involved will be available at the end-of-summer bash and from St Thomas Library from then until the start of October half term. Alibi will be at the St Thomas All Souls’ Festival on Sun 25 October and you can join us then to decorate a square or bring along one you have already made.
