Devon-based artist Sophia Clist will be creating her participatory sculpture, Purl, in the run up to and during the Festival of St Thomas Stories.
Participants write, draw, make marks on strips of soft yet resilient paper-like material, connecting them to form a sculpture that grows into a honeycomb web, weaving thoughts and memories, telling a story, sending a message, making a wish, expressing a desire.
If you would like to contribute to this, look out for special packs which will be appearing throughout St Thomas in early June. Or get in touch with us directly if you wish to share it with groups, schools or anyone who would like to take part!
The sculpture will take shape throughout the St Thomas Together International Celebration on Saturday 9th of July before making its way to the churchyard for all to enjoy over the course of the weekend.
