Welcome to Why We Make Things, a podcast for performance makers for young audiences.
Join Theatre Alibi’s Artistic Director, Nikki Sved, as she chats with fellow children’s theatre makers and thinkers about what they are up to, the issues they are grappling with and the ideas that are exciting them. When the day to day of keeping your head above water can often feel overwhelming, take some time to listen to Nikki’s inspiring guests reflecting on why they do what they do and how they are making things happen.
This podcast series was born out of the isolation of the pandemic, when we launched our popular webinar series, Getting Through The Cracks, about the vital work that children’s performance makers were continuing to produce across the world. Things have moved on, but our need for conversation and reflection remain as important as ever and we hope our new podcast series goes some way towards helping the children’s performance community to respond to the current challenges and opportunities ahead.
