Alongside Alibi, Emmanuel Hall is home to St. Thomas Library, Zero Mile Gardens and other short and long-term hirers. The events and activities that take place here are varied, but children and young people are at the heart of most of them. It is of upmost importance to us that everyone who uses, works in and visits Emmanuel Hall feels safe, respected and included (as well as, hopefully, having an engaging and enriching experience).
We expect that anyone who visits Emmanuel Hall will:
- Be Safe: From observing ‘no smoking’ signs to reporting Safeguarding concerns, we all have a responsibility to keep each other safe.
- Be Respectful: From avoiding inappropriate language to leaving spaces clean and tidy, we expect everyone to treat each other and the building kindly.
- Be Inclusive: From helping someone to find their way, to avoiding judgement of others, we want everyone to feel welcome.
If you have any problems or concerns, we want you to come to us so we can help.
If individuals or groups using Emmanuel Hall are not acting according to these same principles of safe, respectful and inclusive practice we want you to tell us so we can address it.
If you experience any sort of abusive behaviour or derogatory language, we will take this very seriously. Please tell us, so that we can take action accordingly.
Like many arts organisations, we have a lot of policies with a lot of official language in them (sometimes relating to UK law) that can feel rather overwhelming at first sight.
