Home Ed Drama Club: Pantomime!

Alibi’s home is Emmanuel Hall, St Thomas Exeter EX4 1EJ.  

We are located 0.7 miles from Exeter city centre. Our closest bus stop is 0.3 miles away, at Exe Bridges.

Public parking at Alibi is reserved for staff and Blue Badge holders only. Unless you are using a Blue Badge parking space, to avoid disturbing our neighbours please don’t drive down Emmanuel Road – there’s very little space and it’s hard to turn around!

There is one Blue Badge parking space which is available on a first come, first served basis, and there is another Blue Badge parking space on Emmanuel Road. Our closest pay and display car park is 0.2 miles away on Okehampton Street, and costs £2 for 2 hours parking and £3 for 3 hours. • Sessions are now going to be 2hrs instead of 90 mins, and will include a variety of games and activities, alongside work on creating the final performance.
• The first and last fifteen minutes of each session are more relaxed, allowing time for children to settle in and wind down with a game after we finish work.
• Sessions will be run by two experienced facilitators.

To nurture a sense of independence and create a space for children to express themselves creatively without fear of being observed by too many adults, we ask that parents leave children with us for the duration of the session.

Anthos Arts does, however, appreciate that some children (and parents) may be anxious about attending for the first time, so we are happy to discuss the best ways to support them. This might mean a parent stays with us for the session or until their child is settled.

The sessions are a safe space and so we want everyone to feel happy and confident when attending. The goal will be that each child is able to attend without their grownup, but we know this sometimes takes time!

Not necessarily. We know that everyone has different schedules which suit their approach to home educating and this may mean you aren’t able to make every session, which is fine. Of course, consistency is important with Drama, especially when making and rehearsing a show, so we would encourage you to attend as regularly as possible.

Preferably, we ask that children are able to attend on the final week so they can take part in the performance. It is also a big help if parents let us know of any dates they know their child can’t attend at the start of term.

Payment for the full term must be made when signing your child/children up.

Currently, our Home-Ed group caters for ages 9-11 only. If your child/young person would love to get involved in some Drama but is outside of this age range, then please let us know as we may look to expand if there is enough interest.

No, this event will take place upstairs in the Studio, which is accessed via a flight of 16 stairs with a landing halfway up.
