May Half Term Holiday Club

By Alibi & Above Bounds

Join Helen Bovey (Above Bounds) and a team of professional theatre makers to explore the magic of theatre! With each daily workshop following a different theme, pick up new techniques, learn new skills and build confidence in a fun supportive environment.

Every day, we will focus on a different aspect of how to make a show, from creating the story, to bringing the characters to life, giving them some music and designing a set! Whether you are joining us for one day, or the full week, you will learn some of the secrets behind the magic of theatre!

Tuesday: Make your Own Stories!

Join Helen Bovey and Mich Sanderson for a day of storytelling, where we will create our own stories and start to bring them to life through theatre. Perhaps you love to create your own stories at home? This workshop is sure to take your imagination onto the stage!

Wednesday: Drama Games & Characters

Led by Helen Bovey and actor Juliet Chappell, we will learn how to bring characters to life using our bodies, voices and costume! Perhaps we will become some well-known characters, or maybe even some of our own? By the end of the workshop you’ll have tips and tricks to transform into your favourite character!

Thursday: Music & Song Writing

Join us for a day of singing, song writing and music! Laura Loft of Big Music Collective will share her tips and tricks for making music for theatre.

Friday: Set Design & Puppet Making

We will take a look at how to create a set, from designing a model box to bringing a theatrical World to life- including some of the puppets that may live within it. Join Helen Bovey and Designer Jasmine Fassenfelt as they let you into the theatrical secrets behind set design.
